What's Happening at GBAM
As we move toward the final months of 2026, I continue to be reminded why I have spent so many years working with artists. No two careers are alike, and management is about much more than booking dates or negotiating contracts. It is about helping artists identify opportunities, develop new projects, build audiences and, most importantly, create careers that allow their individual voices to be heard.
Our mission remains simple: to perpetuate jazz as an art form by assisting artists in delivering their art.
This year has been especially exciting because the GBAM family continues to grow beyond traditional definitions of jazz. Our roster now encompasses extraordinary musicians, vocalists, composers, broadcasters, educators, choreographers and multidisciplinary artists. Some are preserving important traditions; others are pushing those traditions into entirely new territory.
Camille Thurman & Darrell Green
Camille continues to distinguish herself as one of the most versatile voices in contemporary jazz, moving fluidly between saxophone, voice, composition and education. Her recent work includes Confluence: Vol. 1, her collaboration with drummer Darrell Green, while The Haven Hang continues her commitment to mentoring young women and non-binary musicians. She also serves as Assistant Professor of Jazz Performance at McGill University.

John Clayton
John continues a career defined by curiosity, generosity and musical excellence. His 2026 release the two-o duo project adds another chapter to an extensive discography. John was also commissioned to write new music celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States. The work will premiere at Alice Tully Hall on October 11. His fall calendar also includes the Vail Jazz Festival, Los Angeles appearances, and the Oregon Coast Jazz Party, where he serves in a leadership role for a multigenerational gathering of artists.

Don Braden
Don continues to balance an active performance schedule with a deep commitment to music education. His Earth Wind and Wonder project remains a signature part of his artistic life, reimagining music by Earth, Wind & Fire and Stevie Wonder through a modern jazz lens, while his work as a teacher and mentor continues to reach musicians at every stage of development.

Mark Ruffin
Mark continues to bring jazz to audiences through broadcasting, writing and storytelling. He remains closely identified with SiriusXM Real Jazz and his long-running fusion programming, while also expanding Our Jazz Life and developing Jazz Worldwide as a platform for documenting the people, places and stories that give the music its cultural depth.

Karrin Allyson
Five-time Grammy nominee Karrin Allyson continues to bring her unmistakable combination of intimacy, musicianship and adventurous programming to audiences around the country. Following A Kiss for Brazil, her fall calendar includes appearances in New York, Minneapolis, Omaha, Kansas City and New Jersey, including a special collaboration with the University of Nebraska at Omaha Jazz Ensemble.

Angie Wells
Angie continues to build on the momentum of her NAACP Image Award-nominated album Truth Be Told, produced by John Clayton. She has just completed a successful East Coast tour and is now preparing for a very special recording project. Her work draws naturally from jazz and blues while keeping storytelling at the center, and we look forward to sharing more about this next chapter soon.

Jade Solomon Curtis
Jade continues to create multidisciplinary work that explores identity, memory, community and social experience through movement. Her 2026 work Keeper of Sadness reflects her distinctive approach to merging dance, storytelling, sound and visual language, while Solo Magic remains an important home for her creative and community-centered practice.

Sounds of April & Randall
April May Webb and Randall Haywood continue an exciting period of artistic growth. April's 2024 Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition win brought new attention to the duo, whose work blends jazz tradition with contemporary influences. Their performance, educational and cultural-ambassador work continues to introduce new audiences to their distinctive sound.

Soul Science Lab
Soul Science Lab, the creative partnership of Chen Lo and Asante Amin, continues to expand the possibilities of music, history, technology and storytelling. Their projects include Make a Joyful Noize, Soundtrack '63, The Renaissance Mixtape and 10 Trane, alongside educational programs that bring culturally responsive songwriting, production and performance directly to students and communities.
