Angie Wells

Angie Wells developed her love of jazz and blues from her father during her early childhood in Philadelphia. On Sunday afternoon, she and her dad would sit and listen to stacks of jazz and blues on vinyl. Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Carmen McCrae and B.B. King were just a few of the artists that inspired her.

Her singing career began one night in an intimate jazz club during a trip to Paris where she joined the musicians playing that night for a few songs.  The audience’s reaction encouraged her to pursue a secret desire of professionally singing the music she loved.

Angie Returned home to Los Angeles and began studying under a vocal coach, sought mentorship from some of the best musicians in Los Angeles and began attending jam sessions to hone her skills.

Angie quickly gained a reputation as a vocalist who knows how to tell a story as well as entertain.  She brings lyrics to life in a soulful and sincere way that connects emotionally with her audience. She is a versatile performer who is just as comfortable in an intimate venue as she is when performing on a larger stage or an outdoor festival.

She has returned to France to tour many times and in 2017 Angie released her official debut project Love and Mischief with French pianist Raphael Lemonnier.

Angie planned to record again in 2020 but the pandemic forced a delay. Living through the pandemic truly shaped her ideas and musical choices for her second release Truth Be Told which was produced by the legendary Grammy-winning bandleader, composer and bassist John Clayton in 2023.

Angie is currently in the beginning stages of planning a new project to be released in Summer 2026.
